Tearex® contains Povidone BP 5%, a synthetic polymer consisting essentially of linear 1-Vinyl-2-Pyrrolidinone groups. Povidone is included in artificial tear preparation used in the management of dry eye.

Tearex® Eye Drops is used for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye conditions including keratoconjunctivitis sicca. It is also given as a substitute of tear fluid in case of unstable tear film or insufficient moistening of the eye surface.The recommended dose of Tearex® is 1 drop 4 times daily or as required, depending upon the severity of the disease, to be instilled into the conjunctival sac.
